Kindergarten Registration for 2021-22

Begins on April 1, 2021

  • Students must be turning 5 years old on or before September 30, 2021
  • Parents or Legal Guardians living in Colonial Heights can register their child that lives with them for Kindergarten
  • Starting on April 1, 2021, registration forms may be completed by using either:
    • online pre-registration - click HERE for the link
    • or complete a registration packet of forms and drop them off at the Tech Center locked drop box;
      packets will be available for pick up beginning on 4/1/21, and will be located outside the front doors of the CH Tech Center, located at 3451 Conduit Road 
  • parents will be contacted by the Central Registration Office staff to set up an appointment to complete the registration process

Registration for Students in Grades 1-12 

for the 2021-22 School Year

To Register Your Child for Colonial Heights Public Schools:

Parents or Legal Guardians will need to start the registration process for their child by completing either:
     1. the Online Pre-Registration forms, or
     2. a Registration Packet of forms.

Online Pre-Registration forms: 

Colonial Heights Public Schools is offering online pre-registration for students. The online student pre-registration forms are designed to provide a faster and more convenient way for the parents to pre-register their child(ren).

  • Parent/Legal Guardian - send an email to:  
  • You will receive an email reply with instructions on how to proceed using online pre-registration forms for your child.

Registration Packet with manual entry forms:

  • Registration Packets with paper/pencil forms are available for pick up outside the front doors of the Tech Center, 3451 Conduit Road, 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. 
  • Completed Registration Packets can be dropped off at the CH Tech Center, 3451 Conduit Road, in the locked drop box located outside of the front doors for our staff to verify.

  • Our Registration Packet display is located outside of the front doors of the Tech Center, at 3451 Conduit Road.  Packets are available for packet pickup, 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.

  • A locked drop box is available for parents to return completed registration packets. 
  • It is located beside the front doors, outside of the Tech Center.  
Registration Dropbox
  • Parents can pick up a Registration Packet, complete and drop it off without having to enter the school building.
  • Once the Central Registration Office checks in the forms, we will contact the  parent to set up an appointment for them to meet with our staff and bring in their required documentation to complete the registration process. 

After dropping off the completed registration packet of manual entry forms, or completing the online pre-registration forms, please email to notify the Central Registration Office that the forms have been completed and you are ready to schedule an appointment to complete the registration process. 

To complete a student's registration process, parents will need to provide the following information:

  • Proof of Residency (see below)
  • Original Birth Certificate
  • Immunization Records
  • School Entrance Physical (for Elementary Students only)
  • Parent's photo ID
  • Custody papers (if applicable)

Note: High School and Middle School Student's Records must be received before your child may begin attending school.

Proof of Residency

A. If the parent or guardian owns or rents where they live, they must present:

1. a valid Deed or current Lease, along with a current utility bill if the Lease is over a year old or if the address is not on your photo ID;
2. a Driver's License or photo ID;
3. a completed and notarized (blue) Proof of Residency form

'Note: Additional documentation may be required upon request.

B. If the parent or guardian is living with another family, Dual Residency forms must be used.

The owner/lease holder must present:

1. a completed and notarized (yellow) Owner or Lease Holder Dual Family Residency form;
2. a valid Deed or Lease, along with a current utility bill if the Lease is over a year old;
3. a Driver's License or photo ID;
4. one (1) other *acceptable form of documentation (see below).

The parent/guardian must present:

1. a completed and notarized (green) Parent/Legal Guardian Dual Family Residency form;
2. a Driver's License or photo ID;
3. two (2) other *acceptable forms of documentation (see below) within 30 days.

*Acceptable forms of documentation or mail include any of the following documentation with the parent's/guardian's name and current address:

  • Driver's License
  • vehicle registration
  • voter registration
  • tax statement
  • bank statement
  • official correspondence with an address from a government agency
  • water bill
  • gas bill
  • electric bill

The Central Registration Office usually has a Notary available for your convenience.

School Entrance Health Form

You can use this form to take to your child's health provider for them to complete for your child's School Entrance Physical and Immunizations.

ALL elementary students:
School Entrance Physicals must be completed within 12 months before the student's first day of attendance in a Virginia school.
