As part of the new construction taking place at Colonial Heights High School, the previously erected student memorial was temporarily stored and then relocated to a new location at the center of the school’s front circle. On Thursday, October 12, 2023, the school division, in collaboration with the Colonial Heights Education Foundation, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the new location of the memorial as well as the addition of memory and honor bricks purchased by community members.

The memorial contains placards of students who passed away during their time as a student at Colonial Heights High School. Now, surrounding the memorial, there are numerous bricks ordered by community members who wanted to remember loved ones, honor alumni, or support the school system. These bricks were purchased through a fundraiser by the Colonial Heights Education Foundation (CHEF) during the 2022-2023 school year.

Since this ceremony, many have expressed a desire to purchase bricks to add to this feature at CHHS. The CHEF has reopened the brick purchasing site to accept additional purchases. You can click here to purchase a 4”x8” brick for $99 (3 lines of 16 characters each) or a larger 8”x8” brick for $179 (6 lines of 16 characters each). If you have questions about your brick purchase, please reach out to Patrick of CHEF at [email protected] or (804) 469-0631.
