We had a wonderful evening celebrating the creativity and talent of our students at the CHPS Fine Arts Festival last week! 🎨🎭🎶
From stunning artwork and sculptures to incredible performances by our band, chorus, and drama students, the night was filled with creativity, expression, and CHPS pride.

Last night’s School Board meeting was filled with celebration as we recognized our incredible CHPS students for their achievements! The room was packed with families, staff, and supporters—an amazing reflection of the pride in our school community. 💙
We were proud to recognize -
• Isis Serna, CHMS SCA President in leading the Pledge of Allegiance
• Anthony Sanjurjo-Mercado, March CHHS Senior of the Month
• Our CHHS Culinary Arts students – Jeffrey Hill, Jaydan Bell, Javere Wesson, Nyasia Watkins, and William Montgomery – for their state championship success
• Cam Hartsoe, First Team All-Region and CHHS Boys Basketball’s all-time leading scorer
• Landon Eley, Region 3A Champion (200 yd Freestyle & 100 yd Backstroke) and Top 8 in the state
• Our Scholastic Bowl Team, Region 3A Champions – Ethan Greenwald, Charlie Martin, Anthony Sanjurjo-Mercado, Carson Smith, Thomas Tuck, Blake Underhill, Joshua Whirley, and Andy Yang
We are so proud of these students and the dedication, talent, and hard work they represent across CHPS!

💙✨ CHPS Spotlight ✨💙
Colonial Heights Public Schools is proud to share that we have been awarded a $5,000 STEM Ecosystem Network Grant from the VDOE to expand our summer Colonial STEM Exploration Camp.
This funding will allow us to double student participation, providing more opportunities for hands-on learning, problem-solving, and real-world STEM experiences.
During the Colonial STEM Exploration Camp students learn coding concepts, participate in engineering challenges, and engage in career exploration, all allowing students to connect classroom learning to future pathways in meaningful ways.
We are excited to continue growing innovative programs that prepare our students for success in an ever-evolving world.

Due to the threat of severe weather tomorrow, Colonial Heights Public Schools will be closed for all students and staff on Monday, March 16, 2026.
Given anticipated winds in the area and the potential for severe weather, this decision was made out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and families. We appreciate your help in keeping their safety a top priority.

Join us on Saturday, May 2 as we celebrate our incredible CHPS Girls on the Run teams at their 5K!
🕙 Race begins at 10:00 AM (runners please arrive by 9:15)
📍 Colonial Heights Middle School Track/Football Field

There will be a DJ, tattoos, and lots of excitement as our runners cross the finish line. Spectators are encouraged to wear lime green and bring posters to cheer them on!
