You may have previously seen the amazing, award-winning mosaic artwork we shared from our NES student recently. We were honored this Thursday to be able to recognize the art teacher who inspired the work as our 2024 SVRTC Technology Teacher. This award is earned by an educator who exhibits a passion for technology integration and innovative learning. Mrs. Bell was awarded this title alongside other educators from across the state at a ceremony and luncheon at Longwood University. If you've walked the halls of North Elementary School, you've seen the beautiful pixel creations and vector art she brings out of her students by integrating both traditional art and technology skills. From programming robots to draw pictures to teaching her students how to use graphics tablets to draw via their Chromebooks, she's always searching for ways to marry art with future-ready skills! Congrats, Mrs. Bell!

February 6, 2024 was Safer Internet Day! We know that multi-factor authentication -- all those verification codes and Face ID scans can feel inconvenient -- but they are the best way to prevent fraud, malware, and other online risks. Check out these graphics to learn more!
over 1 year ago, CHPS
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is like having a secret handshake to enter your online accounts. It asks for something you know (password) + something you have (phone, security key) or something you are (face scan, fingerprint) to truly verify you're the owner.
How well does it work? Implementing MFA can make you 99% less likely to get hacked according to Microsoft
MFA options include passwords, pins, security questions, codes, a smart card, fingerprints, Face ID, and more
You should always use MFA for financial accounts, personal accounts, critical services like work accounts and healthcare portals, and high value accounts like online shopping
We encourage citizens to attend the February 27th School Board Meeting and provide public comment on the 2024-2025 Draft Budget. The meeting begins at 6:30pm at the Tech Center A/V Room.
