Comcast Internet Essentials

Beginning on March 16, 2020,  Comcast's Internet Essentials program is free for 2 months for families who qualify. If you go through Comcast's application process, you may need to contact our Food Service Department at (804) 524-3453.

T-Mobile

T-Mobile has started all allowing all customers to have unlimited data plans. Customers may need to contact their provider.
  • Starting now ALL current T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile customers have unlimited smartphone data for the next 60 days (excluding roaming).
    • Mobile phones could be used as hotspots to provide Internet to Chromebooks.
  • T-Mobile is providing all T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile customers an additional 20GB of mobile hotspot/tethering service for the next 60 days coming soon.

Sprint

Sprint is now allowing all customers to have unlimited data plans. Customers may need to contact their provider.
  • Providing Unlimited data for 60 days to customers with metered data plans (effective 3/18)
    • Mobile phones could be used as hotspots to provide Internet to Chromebooks.
  • Giving 20 GB of free mobile hotspot to customers with hotspot-capable devices (effective 3/18)

AT&T

AT&T has not announce unlimited data plans or hotspot provisioning for customers. They are waiving late fees and keeping public WiFi open for customers. 
 

Verizon

As of March 23, 2020, Verizon is adding 15GB of data to customers who do not have unlimited data plans.

Classlink
 
Classlink is a dashboard of apps that students regularly use in school. It can take them directly to many resources without having to remember usernames and passwords (mostly!). 
 
During the closure, teachers may reference tools for students to access via ClassLink. Students on a CHPS Chromebook can easily access ClassLink by opening the Chrome browser and then clicking on "My School Bookmarks" and finding "ClassLink." The URL to access our district's landing page is
 
Students will log in with their Google username and their Google password. For students to use a QuickCard, their computer needs to have a camera. If students do not have to use QuickCards to log in, they can use their Google username and password. Please ask your child's teacher for that information or contact techsupport@colonialhts.net.

If families or students need help with their Chromebooks, please call the Office of Technology and Learning on weekdays from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. On weekdays between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM, please call Erin Ford's office number -- it is being forwarded. Families and students are welcome to email staff at techsupport@colonialhts.net.
