Marching Colonials Win Top Honors in Competition at JMU

10/29/2010 - Our marching band performed in a competition at James Madison
University, the Parade of Champions, on October 20, 2010. Band members
were up early Saturday morning after performing at the football game
Friday evening, practicing their performance before boarding busses and
travelling to Harrisonburg, Virginia.
The "Marching Colonials" received applause throughout their
performance entitled "H2O" featuring The Canyon, Watermark, and Blue
Shades. Drum Major Danielle Drumheller led the band and color guard's
performance on Saturday. The performance included a flute solo, several
flag changes, and special sound effects. The "Marching Colonials"
brought home first place awards for their division including Best Music,
Best Visual, Best Percussion, Best Colorguard, Best Drum Major, and
Best General Effect.
The band competition included over 40 bands from Virginia and nearby
states. It is an annual event that has achieved a reputation as one of
the finest competition events in the country. Congratulations to our
"Marching Colonials!"
