The Colonial Heights Rotary Club honored five students the Rotary Student of the Year Banquet on Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at the Hilton Garden Inn. Nominated by their teachers, and selected a Rotary committee were Brendan Hood, of Colonial Heights High School, Amaris Correll of Colonial Heights Middle School, Nicholas Hayes of Lakeview Elementary School, Megan Hersee of North Elementary School, and Caleb Hughes of Tussing Elementary School. Colonial Heights Schools Superintendent Dr. Joseph O. Cox, Jr. commended the students, and keynote speaker Jay Poole, Dean of Education and Operations at Fort Lee's Army Logistics University, presented the awards.
