After the state Board of Education approved a new state Educational Technology
Plan for Virginia for 2010-2015, it became necessary to align our school
division technology plan with the new conceptual framework in the state's plan.
A Technology Planning Review Team participated in additional needs assessment
related to the new state goals, during November to December of 2010.
Stakeholders also worked together during this same time period, working
virtually through a Wiki, to develop strategies to meet the new goals. What
followed from this review was essentially an updating of the 2008-2012
technology plan that leveraged the hard work from the previous plan, helped to
clarify strategies that emphasize 21st century skills, and served to help align
our School Board's technology plan with the new state conceptual framework.

to present our technology plan for the period 2008 - 2012. This technology plan
is designed to serve as a blueprint to guide our school division in constructing
an effective division-wide educational technology program. The development of
the plan involved teamwork by various stakeholders who worked together to
articulate a vision and plan of action for the future. The Virginia Department
of Education reviewed our technology plan, and found it to be in alignment
with the Educational Technology Plan for Virginia.
